Ivan Ilic: Reicha Rediscovered

UK Premiere

REICHA (1770–1836) Grande Sonate en ut ; Sonate en Fa ; Extracts from Praktische Beispiele : Capriccio, Harmonie, Fantaisie sur un seul accord

Antoine Reicha and Ludwig van Beethoven met at age 15, in the student orchestra at Bonn. Friends and rivals for life, Beethoven took Vienna by storm, whereas Reicha left most of his piano music unpublished. Acclaimed Serbian-American pianist Ivan Ilić returns to the festival for a preview of his upcoming CD. His recital will mark the British premieres of Reicha’s forgotten works, written in the early 1800’s.
