2024 is a key moment in the history of the UK-France relationship; 120 years ago, the leaders of the United Kingdom and France signed the Entente Cordiale.
Ever since, through our darkest days and hours and up to today, we have stood shoulder to shoulder to defend our people and our values, working for peace in Europe and beyond.
Now, it is the links between our people that are the beating heart of the UK-France relationship. We trade together, live in, study in and visit one another’s countries, and exchange knowledge and ideas thanks to writers, artists and scientists on both sides of the Channel.
Alongside the French Embassy and together with British and French partners, the Institut français du Royaume-Uni, will celebrate the Entente Cordiale all year long, with a series of events and new initiatives highlighting our strong ties and nurturing our relationship further.
See some of the highlights below, more to come soon.
