Chicken for Linda!

Linda is unfairly punished by her mother, Paulette, who will do anything to make it up to her. Even a chicken with peppers when she can’t cook. Linda absolutely wants to have the chicken that her father made that day…But there is a strike, a general strike!

Unveiled at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, Cristal winner of the official competition at the Annecy Animated Film Festival in 2023, recipient of the Lumière Award and César Award for Best French Animation, the Italian-French duo Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach’s colourful film sows infectious good humour whilst simultaneously exploring serious subjects with great subtlety: the grieving process, the complex relationships between mother and daughter, and between sisters, friendship, childhood, the question of authority and of collective mentalities on housing estates, all set against a backdrop of a country on general strike.
