In total, they were given a budget of £99,000. Since its inception in 2010, the Diaphonique fund has given £1,041,186 to 129 projects. This allowed to accompany and encourage the creation and programming of new works in contemporary music in France and in the United Kingdom. The Franco-British spirit is at the very heart of each project, nurturing a genuine exchange of musicians, works and aesthetics between the two countries, a dialogue that has included Ireland since 2023, with new partner Culture Ireland.
The 2024 laureates will present their projects:
- in the UK – in London, Belfast, Birmingham, Manchester, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Forres and Huddersfield in France
- in France – in Paris, Cergy, Gennevilliers, Aubervilliers, Strasbourg, Poitiers, Reims, Nice, Landévant, Rostrenen, Ploëzal, Plouaret, Buisson and Chassignolles
- in Ireland – in Dublin and Limerick
The next call for projects will be open mid-March 2025 and closed on 15 May 2025.
The Diaphonique fund is run by the Institut français du Royaume-Uni and owes its success thanks to the support, unfailing commitment and contributions of the Institut français du Royaume-Uni, its Trust, the Institut français, the British Council, the Centre National de la Musique, the SACEM, Creative Scotland and the Fondation Salabert.
