From 10 to 15 September 2024, students from all over the world will take part in the 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, France. 1,400 participants, including 30 British vocational students, from over 70 countries will compete to show their mastery in 59 skills in the fields of Construction and Building Technology, Creative Arts and Fashion, Information and Communication Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Social and Personal Services and Transportation and Logistics.
A delegation of British students came to the French Institute on Friday the 6th of September to meet with Sébastien Bidaud, Minister-Counsellor for the Embassy of France to the UK, Anissia Morel, Cultural Counsellor, Stéphane Foin, Deputy-Cultural Counsellor and representatives from the Education and Higher Education departments of the French Embassy.
On this occasion, Emma Shovlin, Head of Europe and the Americas – International Partnerships at the Department for Education and Emma Roberts, Director of External Affairs for Worldskills UK, presented this initiative focused on championing future skills and empowering young people from all backgrounds. The young members of Team UK then presented their skills and experience to the audience.
