What does it mean to be African European today?

The French Institute, in partnership with SOAS, the Higher Education and Research Department of the French Embassy, along with Film Africa, is launching a series of panels to address this question through a France-UK comparative approach.  This initiative seeks to explore the contours of the concepts of ‘Diaspora’ and ‘Afro descendance’, as well as the experience of otherness and heritage.

Thanks to this interdisciplinary and collaborative approach, we will reflect on the diasporic and afro descendant experience through both collective and personal narratives, as well as the movement of objects, memories, and histories.
