The Art of Joy
Sat 05 AprLoosely based on the posthumous and extraordinary novel of the same name by Goliarda Sapienza, long rejected by Italian publishers until it became known internationally, the Sky original series will have its UK premiere at Ciné Lumière, ahead of its availability on Sky TV, with the screening of the first half of the series followed by a discussion with acclaimed actor and filmmaker Valeria Golino.
The Art of Joy tells the story of a girl in early 20th-century Sicily who discovers her sexuality and the desire for a better life and personal emancipation from rules and boundaries.
