After abandoning her betrothed at the altar, Aya leaves the Ivory Coast to start a new life in the Chinese city of Guangzhou. There, she finds a job in a tea shop owned by a divorced tea trader.

As he mentors her in the art of tea making, they gradually fall in love. This captivating romantic drama by veteran filmmaker Abderahmane Sissako (Bamako, Timbuktu) beautifully explores cross-cultural connections and self-discovery, against the vibrant backdrop of China.
