Nariman Aliev’s award-winning film was first screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival. As the planned release was during the pandemic, the film went straight to streaming and this is a rare chance to see it in the cinema. Nazim, from a Crimean Tartar family, is a casualty of the Russo-Ukraine war and his father Mustafa wants to bring his body back to their home. He takes his younger son with him on a treacherous journey from Kyiv to the volatile Crimea Peninsular.
