Marcello Mastroianni, joined iconically by Anita Ekberg and Anouk Aimée, plays a gossip columnist who journeys through Rome in search of stories, love and happiness. At the time, the film’s atmosphere of moral frustration and sexual candidness created a popular sensation, introducing the audience to the world of paparazzi. La dolce vita went on to win both the Palme d’Or and an Oscar.
