Émilie Dequenne rose to fame when she won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress for her first role on screen as a teenager struggling to break free from a tumultuous life in Rosetta (1999). Known for her raw emotion and versatility, she brings depth and authenticity to every role she takes on, from Our Children (2012), for which she received another Cannes Award, to Love Affairs (2020). She passed away too soon, at 43 years old, in March 2025.
