From Thu 02 to Sat 25 MayIn the long-awaited follow-up to his debut Les Combattants, writer-director Thomas Cailley offers a visionary flight of imagination on the relation between humans, animals and nature, with a dazzlingly poetic use of effects, and superb performances from Romain Duris and Paul Kircher. A strange condition sweeps the world, as people begin sprouting wings, scales, tentacles… Meanwhile a father and son travel south to confront their own trauma.
Selected in the Un Certain Regard Section of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and nominated for Best Feature Film at the European Film Awards 2023, The Animal Kingdom won 5 César awards (including Best costume and visual effects).
