The UCL School of European Languages Culture & Society is holding a special screening of the recording of the play Saigon by French author and director Caroline Guiela Nguyen. Presented at the 71st Festival d’Avignon, SAIGON takes place in a restaurant stuck in a time-space somewhere between modern-day France and 1950s Saigon. The play tells the stories of Vietnamese, French and Franco-Vietnamese characters whose lives have been turned upside down by colonialism and war. The play is written in French and Vietnamese, with English subtitles.
The screening will be introduced by the director Caroline Guiela Nguyen.
