Emily Boyce is an editor and translator from French and Italian. After completing her Modern Languages degree at the University of Oxford, including a year abroad in Turin and Paris, she worked at the BBC before joining independent publisher Gallic Books, where she spent 10 years as in-house translator and editor. She has edited many contemporary French authors and has translated or co-translated more than 20 novels including works by the late noir writer Pascal Garnier and by Antoine Laurain, whose The Red Notebook was chosen for the Duchess of Cornwall’s Reading Room. Her translations have been shortlisted for the Scott Moncrieff Prize 2021, the French–American Foundation Translation Prize 2016 and the French Book Office New Talent in Translation Prize 2008.
